Manchester Frontrunners are organising their 2nd Cake Race, Tom from Manchester sent on this invite;
We would like to invite you to come join us for our race, which will be taking place on the 30th April, and to attend our birthday party that evening. We had an excellent turnout last year from other frontrunner clubs across the UK, and would like to extend our invitation again!
We have only just had our provisional licence for the race approved, so we are not taking bookings at the moment, this is just to act as a Save the Date, so that you can mention it to your members.
Some details on the race, and photos from last year, can be found on our cake race website http://cakerace.uk/
We look forward to seeing you next year!
Registration for our 2016 Pride Run is now open;
We’re delighted to announce that LGBT Helpline have been chosen as this year’s charity for the 5th annual Pride Run.
The LGBT Helpline is a national support service for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender people and their families and friends.
The service was established in 2010 by seven local LGBT helplines, who shared a vision to create an infrastructure to enable them to offer support and information nationally through their network of trained volunteers.
Funds raised from the Pride Run will help training of volunteers, and to fund the continued work of such an important service.
London Frontrunners annual Pride 10K race is a great flat race and good for PB’s (I did my best time there), it’s on in Victoria Park.
There’ll be lots of other Frontrunners groups from across the UK and Europe and hopefully we’ll have some DFR’s representing the club too.
Northern Frontrunners will host their 4th annual 5k race in Newcastle Town Moor, it coincides with Newcastle Pride weekend, they’re just kicking off planning at the moment so more details to follow.
If you’re thinking of going let us know and we’ll talk to Northern Frontrunners to let them know we’ll be represented.
The 4th annual Pride Run last Friday was a big success, many thanks to David Lee our Race Director and his committee, Brian Carter, Pat Lonergan and Aidan Rodgers for all there hard work, also a big thank you to all the DFR’s who volunteered and registered to run the race, and finally to our sponsors Citi, Arthur Cox and Rabo Bank and our race starter Senator Katherine Zappone
We had 500 registered runners and nearly 400 runners on the night, results are available here;
David and our treasurer David P will finalise the accounts over the coming weeks and we’ll organise a cheque handover to our charity partners this year, BeLonG To.
The 4th annual Pride Run is on the 19th of June this year, as usually we’ll have a fantastic 5k race near the Papal Cross and our amazing after party.
We’re just getting started putting the run together but we sold out last year so places will be limited, follow us on Facebook and Twitter (@dublinpriderun) for announcements and info on registration.
Richard has compiled a training program that starts today and runs up to the Pride Run on June 19th and it ties in with out regular runs and his training sessions.
||8km long run
I’ll post each weeks schedule in advance on website, Twitter and Facebook.
