OUTrun is a 5-mile, timed running event around Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park and along the Kelvin Walkway on 20th August 2016. The course is a mixture of flat paths with some hills and will be suitable for most runners. More importantly the race is open to everyone.
Taking place the same weekend as Glasgow Pride, OUTrun’s underlying aim is to raise awareness of LGBT+ participation in sport. The event has been organised by Glasgow FrontRunners, a Commonwealth Legacy 2014 partner and one of Scotland’s largest LGBT+ friendly sports clubs with over 140 members. With the right environment and support sport is great fun whatever your experience or capability, and regular exercise is hugely important for health and wellbeing.
Glasgow FrontRunners will also be holding an evening party to celebrate the run & the club’s 6th birthday. We hope that members from all Frontrunner clubs and the wider running community, including other JogScotland and Scottish Athletics clubs and running groups, will come along and help us celebrate . Venue: Tron Theatre. All are Welcome. Updates will be posted on our Facebook page.
London Front Runners’ annual Pride 10K race is a great flat race and good for PB’s (I did my best time there), it’s on in Victoria Park.
There’ll be lots of other Front Runner groups from across the UK and Europe and hopefully we’ll have some DFR’s representing the club too.
Last Saturday DFR took on our second parkrun of 2016, thanks to everyone who turned up, and for the support from Waterstown themselves.
Some great running with Jacqui and Dermot finishing 4th in the women and men’s categories, well done.
Waterstown Warriors also won the Best Dress Group at the Pride Run, and Dermot gave them their winning trophy.
Waterstown parkrun is our local run and we’re always happy to support, check out the full results below.
If I’ve missed anyone let me know, it may be because you don’t have Dublin Front Runners listed as your club.
Northern Front Runners will host their 5th annual 5k race in Newcastle Town Moor, it coincides with Newcastle Pride weekend, they’re just kicking off planning at the moment so more details to follow.
If you’re thinking of going let us know and we’ll talk to Northern Frontrunners to let them know we’ll be represented.
The 2016 Pride Run has sold out, if you haven’t signed up you won’t be able to run this year. We’ve had a huge response to the run and we thank everyone who has signed up, looking forward to a fantastic evening on the 17th.
5Km race, kicking off Dublin LGBTQ Pride 2016, in association Healthy Ireland & Dublin City council, kindly sponsored by Arthur Cox and Google.
This year our race is raising funds for LGBT Helpline.
Enjoy a healthy start to the pride festival with a 5km race in Dublin’s Phoenix Park on Friday 17th June.
Hundreds of runners, of all ages and abilities, head to Dublin’s biggest enclosed park every year for a day of running, so don’t miss out on your chance to be part of all the fun while helping to raise funds for a very worthy cause!
