Dublin Pride Festival
Hopefully everyone had a good day and night out; thanks to those members who marched behind the DFR banner or popped up around town to support.
Thanks especially to Kieran Cooney and Andy Chambers, our highly-trained official marshals who bravely put themselves in the firing line in case of any danger, and where very well accessorized.
We had fewer DFRs marching this year, so if anyone has any suggestions as to how DFR could better engage with or partake in Pride 2014, please let us know on the Committee.
The summer course of pilates starts this Tuesday 2 July at 7pm in St Andrew’s Resource Centre, 114 Pearse St.
It’s E60 (no subsidy from DFR) for the six week course, payable up front, and don’t forget your mat and the application form.
Thanks to Kieran Cooney for organising this, contact him on email@example.com with any last-minute queries or interest.
Fartlek continues every Monday at 7pm at the Magazine Fort in the Phoenix Park. Good luck to Anne Marie who’s leading the session this week!
Rock n Roll half marathon
Discounted entry for this race in Dublin on Monday 5 August (the bank holiday) expires tomorrow 1 July. Sign up if you’re interested and we’ll look to enter a DFR Team. So far, Seamus Moore, Dermot McCarthy and Declan Treanor have expressed an interest, so one more needed….
Achill half marathon
We’ve had a few late withdrawals from Achill so if anyone has a race number or accommodation to offer, please let the club know.
If anyone needs a lift over, or can offer a lift, please post on Facebook or email Rónán.
Summer Pilates classes will commence on Tuesday July 2nd at 7pm in St Andrew’s Resource Centre on 114 Pearse St Dublin 2
When you get there simply ask at reception and you’ll be directed to the exact room.
The cost of the 6 weeks course is €60-payable in advance- we need to pay this on the first night.
In addition you will need to complete the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire to ensure that you are up to the physical exertion and bring it with you on the night.
We will need to bring our own yoga mats- these can be bought for as little as €2 in shops like Euro World so this should not cause a difficulty.
Thanks to Pat Lonergan for all his hard work in sourcing the instructor.
