Table Quiz 2015

DFR Table Quiz 2015 Thank YouOur annual quiz in The George was a huge success with great feedback from lots of participants.

It was a great result for the club with €1,510 raised from the quiz itself and a huge success for Yes Equality, our raffle raised €1,900, we’ll be donating this over the coming days to support the campaign.

There are lots of people to thank, the committee, all the DFR’s who attended and helped out on the night our sponsors who provided prizes for the raffle and of course our wonderful quiz host.

If you haven’t already or want to do a little more, here’s the link to donate to Yes Equality.

Yes Equality Leixlip

Anne Marie is helping organising some canvassing in Leixlip next Wednesday, it’s a great way to support the campaign and raise awareness.

Dear Community Member,

I am writing to invite you to attend a meeting of the Yes Equality Campaign for Civil Marriage Equality on Wednesday April 22nd at 8pm in the Springfield Hotel, Leixlip.

This meeting will kick start a conversation in the North Kildare villages of Leixlip, Celbridge, Clane and Maynooth about civil marriage equality and how a YES vote in the Civil Marriage Equality Referendum will make Ireland a better place for all. As a teacher who also happens to be gay I am very aware of the importance of this upcoming referendum for all LGBT people and in particular for our young LGBT people.

This meeting is part of Yes Equality, the nationwide campaign for Civil Marriage Equality working to secure a YES vote in the Marriage Equality Referendum in May.

This is an open meeting and all members of the local communities are very welcome to attend.

If you have any further questions or queries about the event please contact me by mailing yesequalityleixlip@gmail.com

Will you please print off the attached invitation and put it up on the notice board in your staffroom and/or local community centre.

Also, please forward this email to anyone you know who would be interested in attending. Invite your friends, family and neighbours too.

Together we can make 2015 the year of Equality and Fairness.

Kind Regards,

Anne Marie.

Fartlek Summer 2015

Patricia has put together a Fartlek program kicking off this Monday 13th, here’s the details.

Farklek 2015 Kick OffAs you all know Fartlek will start on the 13th of April @19:00 and we meet at the Magazine fort car park.

AnneMarie, Mick and Steve are helping me with the sessions, but if anyone is interested to help out, let me know.

Just something to think of when you join us Monday:

  • Try to bring a stopwatch or your running watch to record your lap times. This is to ensure you get the most out of the sessions.
  • Mainly it will be off road but ensure you wear clothing that is visible, I guess most of us do but just in case.
  • Bring your water bottle.
  • Be on time

You must be a registered member to take part in Fartlek.

See you next week!!!

Patricia

Great Ireland Run Saturday 11th April

Because of the Great Ireland Run this weekend, our Saturday run will take place from the Visitors Centre at the normal time of 10am.

The park will be extremely busy so give yourself plenty of time to make it over and if you’re driving allow extra time to find parking. There are a number of road closures with most roads shut between 12:30pm and 3:00pm, so you may need to eat your scone quickly 🙂

Road Closures – OPW

For anyone running in the Great Ireland Run, the meeting point is the Papal Cross car park, at 12:30pm, I will have singlets for anyone racing.

Thanks
Andy
